Located on a private sunny island of Singapore, Keppel bay is probably the only place where one can to enjoy the view of bouncing boats against a serene wave with lavishly looking apartments sitting pretty at the back. Making use of this picturesque view is The Privè Group. It has 3 different outlets that guarantees to cater to your needs.
The Privè Cafe is a bright and simple cafe serving heartwarming Pancakes and Eggs Benedict's. They do serve up dessert puddings and cakes as well which makes it perfect for a brunch or a tea break.
The Privè Waterfront Bar is situated outdoors with comfy couches and pillows along with the lush greenery. With a selection of many alcoholic beverages, it can never fail to entertain the crowd.
My family opted to give The Privè Grill a try that evening and once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and brought to our table which was just beside a full glass window (indoors). The ambience wow-ed me, simple yet sophisticated. The tables were spaced adequately apart which provides enough privacy and intimacy for diners.
While we were looking through the menu, a complimentary glass of Sweet Potato Slices with spices was served which accompanied us through the selection of our dishes.
Without giving out stomachs a break, a full basket of Assorted nuts and raisins bread was brought to us along with butter and sea salt. We loved the bread so much, we almost finished the whole basket before our starters arrive! (Free) Good things are hard to resist~
When we thought its time for our starters to be served, yet another complimentary dish is served. Can this be any more awesome?! Haha. Pork with Apple Sauce Fritters on top of a serving spoon. The pork ball was soft inside but the whole focus has got to be on the tangy apple sauce.
Finally, the starters came before we got too full. Seasonal Fresh Oysters with Red Wine Shallot Sauce ($5 per piece) was served on top crushed ice. However we all felt that it was too small in size and not really worth the price.
My dad ordered the New Zealand Lamb T-Boned Porterhouse with additional Foie Gras ($32+$12) which came with mint jelly. It was medium rare and boy it was definitely tender and juicy. Grilled to perfection with its highly acclaimed Spanish imported Josper Grill. The mint jelly goes surprisingly well with the lamb actually.
Next up was the Wagyu Beef Rump Cap 200g ($37). It was with a Signature steak sauce which was very rich and fulfilling. I requested for the beef to be medium, however certain parts of the cut was more medium rare. It wasn't as tender as I expected it to be even though the smoked flavour was decent.
The ladies decided to go for the Seafood Pot-Au-Feu ($32) which consists of Pan roasted salmon, Scallops, Crab Tortellini, Mussels, Leek and White cap mushroom nage. Basically its a seafood galore with a bit of everything. A must have for a seafood lover. The seafood was not overcooked and complimented very well with the clear broth that tasted a little like onion soup.
We were all full to the brim at this point of time, but there's always room for desserts right? So here we go again! Rum, Coconut and Pineapple Soufflé ($14) was simply splendid. It was served with a scoop of Coconut ice cream which had bits of biscuits and coconut wrapped on the inside. The Soufflé also had coconut bits and was soft, fluffy and nicely crisp on the surface.
To end this sumptuous dinner, a double scoop of Lime Sorbet ($8.50) seemed like the perfect choice. The sourness over fine shaved ice did well in refreshing the palate.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience dining in The Privè. The food and service were very satisfying. It makes me want to return to try the other dishes they offer from the Josper grill. Just when you think we are done for the night, complimentary Banana walnut cake was given as a sweet end to our night!
